best of eastern visayas photo exhibit
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010my entries to the Best of Eastern Visayas Photo Exhibit in Tacloban City, from June 24 - July 2, 2010. the event is sponsored by the Provincial Government of Leyte and Department of Tourism-8, in coordination with the Camera Club of Leyte and Samar. Since most of our club members are coming from leyte, i opted to submit images that i took from our beloved Samar Island.

- a telephoto landscape. the beauty of using telephoto lens resulting to a clean shot that focuses only on the light and colour of the sky, contrasted against the simple shapes of the landscape. am now starting to like telephoto lens for landscapes and can’t imagine traveling without taking it with me!

northern samar visit
Friday, July 17th, 2009am greatly honored to be part of the core group tasked to prepare a book for the centenary celebration of Diocese of Calbayog. the team is composed of writers, photographers and researchers. our first research and photo assignment was in northern samar, particularly the towns of catubig, palapag, laoang, catarman and capul. these places were considered to have the oldest churches in the north, erected during the first mission of the jesuits in samar island.
here are few of the images i created during our 3-day travel.
